Javier and Martin Galvan agree that having a sibling on the same team as you is great motivation to compete. "The best part about having a sibling on your team is that you can push each other on and off the field," said Martin. The brothers push each other on more than one team as they are teammates on the varsity football, wrestling, and baseball team at Independence.
The two have created many memories as a result of being a part of multiple sports together. The duo shared that their favorite memory of being on the same team was when they won wrestling matches one after the other to help their team advance through a tough dual.
When asked for their advice for other siblings they shared, "Don't get upset with your sibling, they're going to be there with you the whole way - pushing you through the hard times. You can't give up on them. Always keep fighting until the end because your sibling is looking up to you, or at you. Push your hardest. Win or lose."
