For Meagan, Camila, and Grecia Moncada, soccer has been a part of their lives for as long as they can remember.
"We chose soccer because our dad played, and he always told us how he wanted to become a professional - and he almost did." says sophomore, midfielder, Grecia. "Now we just want to continue the sport because we've learned to love it, and it’s just become a part of our lives and it always will be," she added.
The siblings each began playing at around 7 years old, and have all grown to become a force on the Lady Trojans varsity soccer team. Grecia made Second Team All-Area as a freshman for the Trojans, and Camila was named All-Area Honorable Mention her freshman and sophomore year.
"If you (and your sibling) play the same sport, learn how to use the fact that you are related to create a chemistry on the field because that would benefit the team," says Meagan, a senior offensive striker, and the oldest of the three.
Junior, Camila added, "Treat your siblings like you would your other teammates. Having a disconnect with one another will affect the way you guys work together (on the field)."
The Foothill Girls Soccer team finished third in the South East Yosemite League last season, and hope to be a contender for the title with the return of the three Moncada Siblings when sports resume.
